Human, Approximate is a series of sculptural figures made from black garbage bags and cardboard boxes, materials meant for packing up, hiding away, and throwing out.
The bodies are fully there: solid, physical, and unmistakably present. But they’re also clearly disposable, black, sealed, fragile, and easy to replace.
These figures sit in that uncomfortable in-between state: not quite garbage, not quite a valuable delivery. They look like something being stored, shipped, or handled with care, yet they carry the threat of being tossed out at any moment.
