Loser/
Conqueror

Loser/Conqueror, 2015

A territory composed of mutants and creepy creatures.
A transition from the known to the unknown.
A multi-layered ambiguous presence.

Embracing their own alienation, these creatures attempt to generate a new ecosystem that is near and tactile. Yet, they are free from time, space and reality while trying to define their taxidermic existence.

Connecting biology, nature, and identity, this work studies ecological processes, cycles and uncanny interactions. It is a journey into the manifestations of reproduction and invasion in which strange, alien-like creatures propagate and overrun the gallery space in a fertile yet deranged system. Combining video, mixed-media installations and dioramas created from ephemera and found objects, stitched drawings and sculptural forms, the work experiments with the boundaries of evolution and fantasy.
